Academy Football

The Ouse Valley Football Academy consists of three teams:

Bedford Blackhawks Youth (U17 full contact)
Milton Keynes Redwing Youth (U17 full contact)
Ouse Valley Eagles Junior (u19 full contact)

Both Youth teams are aimed at players aged 13 to 17, take part in a 5-a-side contact version of the game and compete in tournaments in locations across Southern England and the Midlands.

The Blackhawks were our first Youth team launched in 2017. They played competitive tournaments in 2018 and 2019 and have become a competitive squad. More importantly the program has introduced over 30 players to the sport and has produced some very good talent. A notable alumni is Liam Cole who has achieved GB Youth honours whilst representing The Blackhawks.

The Redwings were launched as a development team in 2018 following grant support from the Milton Keynes Community Foundation. This generous award has allowed us to buy playing equipment which would otherwise be a barrier to entry for young people. The Redwings joins the National League in 2019.

Blackhawks Youth practice sessions take place every Sunday from noon – 14:00 at the Bedford International Athletics Stadium.

Redwings Youth practice sessions take place every Saturday from 10.00 – 1noon at Brooklands Pavillion in Milton Keynes.

The Ouse Valley Eagles Junior team is in development during 2019. It aims to provide a playing opportunity for 17-19 years players and represents an important bridge into the Senior Team. The objective is for the Junior team to play arranged matches for experience this season and enter the National League in 2020.

Eagles Juniors also practice every Sunday from noon – 14:00 at the Bedford International Athletics Stadium.

We supply all necessary playing equipment and team uniform. All you need is suitable practice clothing, footwear and a gum shield.
